Yorkshire Car Owners Get Personal
Yorkshire car owners are amongst the top ten most likely to choose a personal number plate in the UK. That’s according to a new top ten of UK counties revealed by leading personal number plate company New Reg.

- Kent
- West Yorkshire
- Middlesex
- South Yorkshire
- Hertfordshire
- Lanarkshire
Despite the popularity, New Reg has also revealed that there are still some prime Yorkshire-related numbers up for grabs from their online database of more than 19 million plates.
At the top end ‘H8 ULL’ might set you back £3,595 but ‘Y8 RKK’ can be picked up for as little as £494.

New Reg marketing manager Markerle Davis said,
“Generally, the fewer the letters - the more valuable the registration. However the value of each plate to the customer ultimately depends on the individual - which means there are always bargains to be had.
“The registration process is quick and straight forward – we take car of everything - and the majority of plates are inexpensive.”
New Reg has also confirmed that men are twice as likely to purchase car number plates as women although the number of women buying has increased by more than 10% in the last year. The majority of number plate purchasers are in their 30’s.
The www.New Reg website features a searchable database of more than 19 million number plates in total. Users can also browse by category or keyword and you could always unearth a bargain with some plates priced as from £99.
