RFC 1P is a suffix-style registration. The suffix letter P at the end of the plate identifies it as a 1975 registration. Suffix plates were the standard UK format from 1963 to 1983. Under DVLA rules, RFC 1P can be assigned to any vehicle first registered in 1975 or earlier. Suffix plates with strong initials or short numbers are among the most collectable formats available.
RFC 1P was first made available in 1975. The original issuing office for this combination is Oxford C.B.C.. Local council and county borough offices issued plates within their geographic area — the issuing office identifies the regional origin of the registration.
