BHO 4V is a suffix-style registration. The suffix letter V at the end of the plate identifies it as a 1979 registration. Suffix plates were the standard UK format from 1963 to 1983. Under DVLA rules, BHO 4V can be assigned to any vehicle first registered on or after 1979. Suffix plates with strong initials or short numbers are among the most collectable formats available.
BHO 4V was first made available in 1980. The original issuing office for this combination is Hampshire C.C.. Local council and county borough offices issued plates within their geographic area — the issuing office identifies the regional origin of the registration.
