Plate Details

CL69 RES is a current-style registration issued in September 2019. Current style plates use a two-letter area code, a two-digit year code (69), and a three-letter random sequence. The 69 area code identifies it as originating from the Cardiff DVLA office, covering Wales. Under DVLA rules, this plate can be assigned to any vehicle first registered on or after September 2019 — it cannot make a vehicle appear newer than it actually is.

Investment & Value

CL69 RES is a current-style registration. While the current format is still issued, specific combinations with strong personal associations — particularly short, meaningful initials — command significant premiums on the secondary market. The combination Gress and Clree is a common name, which significantly increases demand — plates that clearly represent popular names consistently attract competitive bidding and hold their value well. Personalised number plates are a tangible, portable asset. Unlike most purchases, a desirable plate retains and can appreciate in value over time. NewReg has been trading since 1991 and can advise on valuation — call 01772 566400.
