Plate Details

JA16 CKS is a current-style registration issued in March 2016. Current style plates use a two-letter area code, a two-digit year code (16), and a three-letter random sequence. Under DVLA rules, this plate can be assigned to any vehicle first registered on or after March 2016 — it cannot make a vehicle appear newer than it actually is.

Investment & Value

JA16 CKS is a current-style registration. While the current format is still issued, specific combinations with strong personal associations — particularly short, meaningful initials — command significant premiums on the secondary market. JA16 CKS has DVLA auction history, having been offered at a DVLA auction in April 2023. DVLA auction appearances are selected by the DVLA for their perceived desirability — it is a recognised mark of a plate's collectability and historical market recognition. Personalised number plates are a tangible, portable asset. Unlike most purchases, a desirable plate retains and can appreciate in value over time.
